Emergency Management

Many organisations have detailed contingency plans and should be able to provide the initial response to site related emergencies and incidents. It is important that your managers, staff and contractors who are likely to respond in the first instance are aware of local contingency plans and have an understanding of their own roles and responsibilities.

It is acknowledged that there may be occasions when the size and nature of the emergency or incident will involve working alongside and in partnership with the emergency services, local authorities and other agencies.

The Emergency Responders Training Programme is tiered, it allows for the examination of local plans and the roles and responsibilities through different levels of engagement dependent on operation role.

The programme has been designed to be adapted for delivery at the different sites dependent on organisational need and local requirements. Any emergency planning and response involves a command (management) element and an operational response element i.e. fire and first aid teams.

The two day programme supports individual and team development and includes classroom based learning with formal assessment of team leaders (emergency / incident controllers) and practical exercises allowing for application of the learning in a safe environment for the operations team.
